Demo shop This shop exists purely to demonstrate plugins. Articles, prices and product images are fictitious. Every product image was generated by artificial intelligence. No orders are processed and no goods are shipped.

Self-pickup

Click & collect changes two things at checkout: the customer should see where to collect – and for tax purposes it is not their address that counts but the pickup location.

The plugin solves both through a stored customer whose default shipping address is the pickup address. The configuration decides which shipping methods count as self-pickup – here it is Self-pickup at the Linz plant.

How to see it in the shop

  1. Put any product into the cart – for example from the Combined functions category.
  2. Go to checkout and choose Self-pickup at the Linz plant as the shipping method.
  3. On the confirmation page the delivery address now shows the Linz plant instead of your own address.
  4. Next to it the cart shows 20% VAT instead of the 19% that would apply to a delivery to Germany.

The reason for the rate: whoever collects at the plant buys, for tax purposes, where the goods are handed over. The plant is in Austria, so the Austrian rate applies. Shipping costs are unaffected – they keep following the customer's address so that shipping methods are filtered correctly.

Both effects can be switched off separately: the address display and the tax calculation are separate switches in the plugin configuration, each per sales channel.
